Best friends…
They are best friends, seniors and wanted a session together. How sweet is that! I have a feeling they will be best friends for life…

A beautiful senior…
Here are a couple I have edited. I cannot wait to share the ones of her in the prom dress with a basketball and the one of her stopping traffic (literally!).

Last day of school…
Yesterday was the last day of school. I tried not to cry but I was not successful. I surprised my parents with a movie of photos I have taken throughout the year….we all cried!
Now, I can catch up on my postings. I had a record high of sales last month…thank you! Here are some highlights…
Newborns are always soooo sweet…

Updates!
I have been so busy shooting and proofing and rush jobs for seniors I have not even had a chance to update my blog and website. Believe me I cannot wait because I have gotten some amazing images recently. Look for my site to have a new look within the next couple of weeks.
Okay, I just want to say thanks. This past month CC Harris Photography had a record month. Thank you as it gives me the opportunity to put the money back into the company so that I can continue to offer you the highest quality of images.
As for this next week, photography will take a backseat to my twelve friends at school. I am going to miss them so much as they have become a part of me. I am aware of the couple of rush jobs I have but if you are not on a time deadline please be patient with me. Two things I have never been good at….letting go and saying good bye.

The gardens…
This was alot of fun! I love shooting in new places and this is one of my favorites. The girls were so cute.
Dad hatches chickens so he was a wealth of information for me. He helped me with the water and humidity and what did result were ten healthy chicks! I cannot wait to post pictures but they are so cute!
Hope to see all of you again soon! Shirley

It is 2:34 a.m.!
I just finished proofing a job that I did over two weeks ago. The family has been more than patient…I promised it would be released this evening but I cannot even keep my eyes open to copyright the images and upload them to the site. I will do it first thing in the morning and share some photos on the blog. Wow, they have beautiful girls.
I did two shoots tonight and I have two more shoots this weekend. I love photography….truly, but I am looking forward to some r and r this summer with Carson.
Thank you everyone for your support and business. I truly appreciate it. Good night!
PS…the chicks are thriving!!!
My very long day…
I sent this to my parents at the school I worked. Thought you might enjoy reading it!
The Chick Story
This week my mother is visiting. How appropriate since our theme all week is mothers! Mom has taught preschool for twenty years and has a very special way with children. Nicholas asked her if she would come back tomorrow. She said yes!!
Mom was the first to notice a small crack in an egg. Throughout the day the children and I observed the pecking and the crack increasing. I was so proud!!! I felt like I was giving birth!! When we left the school around 3, the hole was smaller than a dime.
I am shooting a baby when my phone message light is blinking. It is my director telling me that Cathy from the office is frantic because a chick has hatched!! She is convinced it is frying in the incubator and starving to death. Now, I do remember learning that the chicks can stay in the incubator for one or two days and does not require food and water during that time. However, I am now in panic mode too!
I am in Lewisville so around 6 I call the feed store in the area. The man tells me they are closed…and I am saying but the chicks are coming! The chicks are coming! Now have I bought the supplies yet? Of course not; I did not want to count my chickens before they hatched! Now, I too am convinced the chick is starving and dehydrating! So, he senses my panic and tells me to come by…he will open the doors for me.
I am greeted by a man in his late sixties. I tell him over and over thank you. I think I even grabbed his hand. I felt relief! He gets a bag of food and shows me some specially designed water and food dispensers made for chicks. He says, “now maam, don’t waste your money on these. Surely you have something around the house that will do just as good.” A.) I am thinking who has time!!! My chick is starving!! And B) Nothing for the best for my chicks! Surely, he does not realize my class wears uniforms! He keeps saying maam, I just feel like I am robbing you. I say HOW MUCH!! JUST RING IT UP! He says they are a dollar fifty a piece.
He tells me to come by in the morning and get hay for their temporary home. I asked if cat litter would work. He says, “maam, you don’t want to spend five dollars on cat litter. Yes, that would work but you are throwing away your money.” I said it was okay. Then it occurred to me so I asked…” Sir, so chicks…do they like you know go to the bathroom?” He now thinks I am crazy but he smiles. I think he kind of likes me.
“Maam, I do not want you to spend your money. Come on, I will get you some hay. So in this deserted store I follow this man through many doors and a field. I am now thinking I will next be seen on the six o’clock news. “Unfortunate story involving teacher and her chick…” He gives me the hay. I love this man. He truly is one of those special people. I am bringing him lunch on Friday.
So around 8 pm I make it to school. I am kind of scared to look in the incubator yet there he is….the most beautiful baby I have ever seen. And the best surprise? I not only found one chick but two!!
Both are resting under their heat lamp nestled in hay with food and water with top of the line dispensers. Only the best for our chicks!
Cracks are now on several eggs. Stay tuned!

Help wanted…
What started out as a small business has now grown to a point where I can no longer handle it myself. I am looking for someone to assist me with the following tasks. Duties will include answering emails, scheduling appointments, sending out contracts, and tracking expenses and profit. I will train you in light photo shop editing to prepare photos for client viewing. Pay will be a percentage of the earnings. This position will require aproximately ten hours a week from your own home. This position is ideal for parents who choose to work inside the home but would like additional income.
If interested, please call me at (214) 405-1287.

This session rocked!
Okay, so it does help that the senior is beautiful and photogenic…I won’t take all the credit! However, I did find a new locale and I loved the bright color walls. We did all sorts of shooting – nature, letter jacket, trendy ~ we did it all.
Here are a few from a wonderful session – it is hard to narrow down!

Loving the colors!
I see alot of white and even black but this was the first shoot with the ladies in lime green. I absolutely love the images and bright colors.
Enjoy the sneak!
